The 2024 Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) results are here, and we’re proud to announce that BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City earned the highest academic gains across the entire state of Louisiana.
Additionally, BASIS Baton Rouge Materra was the highest-performing open-enrollment school in Baton Rouge.
LEAP is a standardized test administered by the Louisiana Department of Education. Students in grades 3 and up take the test each year. LEAP is designed to measure students’ knowledge and skills in specific subjects. We’re thrilled to see the progress our students made over the past year!
BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City
BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City achieved dramatic academic gains year over year. From 2023 to 2024, we achieved a 19% increase of students scoring at the Mastery or Advanced level on the LEAP English Language Arts (ELA) test. We also had a 16% increase of students scoring Mastery or Advanced on the LEAP Math test. These year-over-year gains are the highest achieved by any school in the state!
Students at BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City scored well above both the state-wide average and East Baton Rouge Parish average.
BASIS Baton Rouge Materra
BASIS Baton Rouge Materra achieved excellent results on the 2024 LEAP test. We are particularly proud of our math results. From 2023 to 2024, we had a 14% increase of students performing at Mastery and Advanced on the LEAP Math test. By comparison, the state-wide math results remained stagnant with 0% growth across Louisiana year over year.
For the second year in a row, BASIS Baton Rouge Materra is the highest-performing open-enrollment school in Baton Rouge. Our students greatly outperform the state-wide LEAP averages and East Baton Rouge Parish LEAP averages.
