Our tuition-free, public charter schools serve students in grades K–5 at BASIS Goodyear Primary and grades 6–12 at BASIS Goodyear. We are proud to be part of the BASIS Charter Schools network which has been providing world-class education since 1998. Our campuses follow a STEM-infused, liberal arts program designed to propel your student farther than they ever thought possible.

Melissa Rankin
Head of School

Melissa began her career in education in 2006 as a special education paraprofessional in California. She has worked as a Special Education Assistant, Self-Contained Special Education teacher, and high school special education teacher. Melissa joined the BASIS Charter Schools family in 2015 as a Special Education Coordinator and has also held the roles of Director of Academic Programs and Head of School.

Angelique Samaniego
Head of Operations

Angelique began her career in education in 2011 serving as the Dean of Academics and Students for over 7 years. She joined BASIS Goodyear as the Director of Operations in 2023 and moved into the role of Head of Operations in 2024.

Kayla White
Director of Student Affairs K-5

Kayla White, a Mississippi native, is a life-long learner who began her career in education in 2016. She has teaching experience in grades K-3 and 6th grade Information Communication Technology. Kayla joined the BASIS network as the Primary Dean of Students in 2023 and now holds the role of Primary Director of Student Affairs. Her focus is to empower and support student achievement through teacher and parent collaboration.

Harold Horn has worked in education for over 15 years. He joined BASIS Goodyear in 2016 as Dean of Students for grades 6-12 and moved into the role of Director of Student Affairs in 2018.
