BASIS Leander Primary and BASIS Leander will open for the 2026–27 school year.

BASIS Leander Primary and BASIS Leander will begin accepting applications November 4th, 2025. For your best chance at securing a seat, we recommend applying during our Open Enrollment period which ends on December 12, 2025. Please sign up for our interest list for up-to-date enrollment information.

BASIS Leander Primary and BASIS Leander will initially open to grades K–8 (grades K–5 at our primary school and grades 6–8 at our upper school). We will add one grade level each year, so your child will get a full K–12 education.

We are excited to offer school tours once construction is completed on our future campus. In the meantime, we encourage you to attend a Virtual Info Session or attend office hours or an upcoming Coffee, Tea & Conversation event.  Please sign up for our interest list to be the first to know when tours begin at our new campus.

A “transfer” allows a current student to apply for a spot at a different BASIS Texas campus for the upcoming school year. While it isn’t a guaranteed spot, it does give your application a special “priority” status on the waitlist.

Yes. To remain eligible for a transfer, students must successfully complete their current school year at their original BASIS Texas campus.

Not quite. Think of the transfer exemption as a “fast pass,” it moves your student to a prioritized position on the waitlist for your desired grade and campus. However, because our classrooms have limited space, we can only make an offer if a seat becomes available.

The sooner, the better! To give your student the best chance at a spot, you should submit your transfer application during or immediately after the Open Enrollment period. If you wait until later in the enrollment cycle, the available seats may already be filled, even with your priority status.

It is important to stay enrolled! If a student withdraws from their current BASIS Texas Charter School before the transfer is finalized, they lose their transfer priority and would have to apply as a new student.

While we can’t guarantee a spot (it all depends on how many seats are open in a specific grade), we do everything we can to bring families together:

  • If one of your children is already enrolled and stays with us for the next year, their siblings get to skip the general lottery! They are placed in a special “Sibling Priority” group on the waitlist.
  • If you have multiple children applying and one gets selected in the lottery, their brothers and sisters are immediately moved into that priority group.
  • To keep this priority active for a sibling, the “currently enrolled” student must remain a student. If the enrolled student withdraws before the sibling gets an offer, the sibling priority is removed.
