BASIS Texas Charter Schools have robust safety protocols in place to ensure the wellbeing of our students. Learn more about our comprehensive security measures for our schools in Texas.
BASIS employs a comprehensive security system comprised of advanced video surveillance, access control systems, intrusion alarms, discreet panic alert buttons, and a robust visitor management system. These integrated technologies work together to proactively deter unauthorized access, monitor activity, and ensure a safe learning environment.
Campus Reporting – Each BASIS Texas Charter School has an anonymous reporting system in place for students and staff to use. Students and staff will be trained on specific reporting procedures at each campus. These systems make it easy to report incidents and concerns regarding students or other members of our community who might be experiencing bullying, cyberbullying, or another crisis.
BASIS Charter Schools offer a secure and anonymous reporting system that empowers students to report any safety concerns they may have. This system allows students to be upstanders and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
BASIS Texas Charter Schools conduct regular security assessments aligned with the U.S. Department of Education’s and the Texas State Agency’s requirements and best practices. These assessments identify potential vulnerabilities and inform proactive measures to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
Our commitment to student safety is reflected in our safety and security plan, which is developed in accordance with the most up-to-date state and federal guidelines.
Our school leaders and directors actively participate in FEMA’s ICS training program, equipping them with the necessary skills for effective incident management and emergency response. This ensures a coordinated and efficient response in the event of an unforeseen situation.
Regularly scheduled safety drills are conducted in accordance with standard response protocol to ensure students, faculty, and staff are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations. These drills promote familiarity with safety procedures and foster a culture of preparedness.
