BASIS Scottsdale Primary West is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K–4. We set the foundation for academic success with our accelerated curriculum, robust student support system, and variety of enriching extracurriculars.
Throughout the year, BASIS Scottsdale Primary West students participate in exciting activities that take their learning to the next level. These include author visits, STEM challenges, field trips and our annual BASIS Scottsdale Primary West Olympics, where students learn about different countries and compete in team-based games! Through opportunities such as student council, mentoring programs and peer tutoring, we empower students to become confident leaders both inside and outside the classroom.

Students who complete grade 4 at BASIS Scottsdale Primary West go on to attend BASIS Scottsdale for grades 5–12. Our accelerated middle school and high school curriculum challenges and inspires students, preparing them to attend the top colleges in the nation.

BASIS Scottsdale Primary West extracurriculars change year to year based on student interest. Our extracurriculars include athletics, fine arts, and after-school clubs. Some of our most popular offerings are Chess, Coding, Sports, and Theatre!
Full-day kindergarten at BASIS Scottsdale Primary West is $420 per month or $3800/year. Our half-day kindergarten program is tuition-free.
At BASIS Scottsdale Primary West, our after-school (Late Bird) fees vary based on your student’s grade. For full-day kindergartners, Late Bird is free until 4:00 p.m. For 5:30 p.m. pickup, our kindergarten Late Bird fees are $130/month, $550/semester, $1,000/year, and $25/day for daily drop-ins. For students in grades 1–4, our Late Bird fees are $325/month, $1,450/semester, $2,600/year, and $40 for daily drop-ins.
A typical class size at BASIS Scottsdale Primary West is 30–32 students. We have two teachers in the classroom from grades K–3, which reduces our student-teacher ratio.
BASIS Scottsdale Primary West offers Mandarin. When students advance to BASIS Scottsdale for high school, they may choose from Mandarin, Spanish, or French.
At BASIS Scottsdale Primary West, cell phones must be turned off and stored in students’ cubbies during the entire school day. Students may ask permission to use a landline telephone if they need to call parents/guardians during the school day.
