BASIS Charter Schools Celebrates 119 Students Named 2026 National Merit Semifinalists

At BASIS Charter Schools, academic excellence is at the core of everything we do. Each year, our students demonstrate their college readiness and intellectual curiosity by competing at the highest levels of national academic programs. The recognition of our Class of 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program Semifinalists underscores why BASIS Charter Schools are consistently ranked among the top charter schools in the nation.

Families searching for a world-class education can look to these achievements as proof of the strength, rigor, and success that defines our school communities.

In September 2025, The National Merit® Scholarship Corporation announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring.

About 95% of Semifinalists are expected to advance to Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will earn the title of National Merit Scholar®. The announcement of winners will take place in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July 2026.

We are proud to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of 119 BASIS Charter Schools students who have been named Semifinalists this year. Their hard work, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to academic excellence reflect the very best of our community.
