Reading and math results exceed statewide rates by 18.5 and 22.1 percentage points, respectively
Twelve BASIS Texas Charter Schools campuses earned A-ratings, and the network exceeded statewide passing rates in all eight subjects of this year’s 2025-26 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness results.
“These results show how much our students can achieve with high expectations and exceptional teaching,” said David Hubalik, CEO of BASIS Ed Texas. “Twelve A-rated campuses and passing rates above the state in eight subjects are accomplishments our teachers, students and families have earned together. We are proud of the strength of our schools and the opportunities that a challenging education creates for our students.”
Across grades three through eight, the network recorded a 95.6% passing rate in reading, compared with 77.1% statewide, and a 90.4% passing rate in math, compared with 68.3% statewide. Participating campuses also recorded 100% passing rates in biology and U.S. history end-of-course assessments.
“The breadth of these results matters,” Hubalik said. “Our students are succeeding from the primary grades through high school coursework. Our responsibility is to build on that success, support students who need more help and keep opening doors to the next level of learning.”
Network results exceed statewide passing rates
The network’s advantage was at least 15 percentage points in six subject categories and more than 20 percentage points in four. Combined results across participating campuses included:
- Math, grades three through eight: 90.4% passing, compared with 68.3% statewide, a 22.1-percentage-point advantage.
- Reading, grades three through eight: 95.6% passing, compared with 77.1% statewide, an 18.5-percentage-point advantage.
- Eighth-grade social studies: 89% passing, compared with 56.7% statewide, a 32.3-percentage-point advantage.
- Algebra 1: 97.1% passing, compared with 82.1% statewide.
- Biology: 100% passing, compared with 93.5% statewide.
- English 1: 99.2% passing, compared with 71.5% statewide.
- English 2: 97.9% passing, compared with 72.2% statewide.
- U.S. history: 100% passing, compared with 93.2% statewide.
12 campuses earn A ratings
The following A-rated campuses also posted strong STAAR results:
- BASIS Austin: Third-grade math and reading passing rates both reached 93.1%, compared with 66.9% and 73.7% statewide, respectively.
- BASIS Cedar Park Primary: Fifth-grade math and reading passing rates both reached 99.4%, compared with 74.8% and 78.9% statewide, respectively.
- BASIS Cedar Park: The campus recorded 100% passing rates in all five reported end-of-course subjects: Algebra 1, biology, English 1, English 2 and U.S. history. Statewide passing rates ranged from 71.5% to 93.5% across those subjects.
- BASIS Pflugerville Primary: The third-grade math passing rate reached 94.8%, compared with 66.9% statewide.
- BASIS Pflugerville: The campus recorded a 100% passing rate in seventh-grade reading, compared with 76.6% statewide. Eighth-grade social studies reached 93.7%, compared with 56.7% statewide.
- BASIS Plano Primary: Fifth-grade math and reading passing rates both reached 97.4%, compared with 74.8% and 78.9% statewide, respectively.
- BASIS Plano: The campus recorded 100% passing rates in seventh- and eighth-grade math, compared with 48.3% and 72.7% statewide, respectively.
- BASIS Richardson: The campus recorded a 100% passing rate in Algebra 1, compared with 82.1% statewide. Sixth-grade reading reached 96%, compared with 72.3% statewide.
- BASIS San Antonio Primary Medical Center: Fifth-grade math reached 94.5%, compared with 74.8% statewide, and fifth-grade reading reached 96.1%, compared with 78.9% statewide.
- BASIS San Antonio Primary North Central Campus: The fifth-grade reading passing rate reached 96.3%, compared with 78.9% statewide.
- BASIS San Antonio Primary Jack Lewis Jr.: The third-grade reading passing rate reached 97.5%, compared with 73.7% statewide.
- BASIS San Antonio Shavano: Eighth-grade reading reached 99.5%, compared with 83.1% statewide. The campus also recorded 100% passing rates in biology, English 1 and U.S. history, compared with 93.5%, 71.5% and 93.2% statewide, respectively.
