The nation’s number one public charter school network welcomed over 1,500 K–8 students at brand new 94,125-square-foot campus.
LEANDER, Texas, Sept. 1, 2026 –– BASIS Texas Charter Schools is thrilled to announce the opening of its fourth campus in the Austin area, joining BASIS Cedar Park, BASIS Pflugerville, and BASIS Austin.
BASIS Leander Primary and BASIS Leander, located at 265 Raider Way, Leander, TX 78641, opens serving grades K-8 with plans to add a new grade level each year to become a full K–12 program. The 94,125-square-foot campus includes:
- 31 standard classrooms, 8 science rooms, 3 primary STEM rooms
- 4 art rooms, 5 music/drama rooms, and 3 multipurpose spaces
- A full-size gym, black box theater, exercise room, and 3 outdoor play areas









“The opening of BASIS Leander is a celebration of the hard work that has been poured into this campus. We’re enthusiastic about what’s yet to come and are so happy to have such a wonderful group of parents, students, and staff along for the ride,” says BASIS Ed Texas Chief Executive Officer David Hubalik.
BASIS Leander teachers, staff and dignitaries celebrated its grand opening on Aug. 31, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Attendees had the opportunity to tour state-of-the-art facilities, meet the dedicated staff and learn more about BASIS Texas Charter Schools.
