BASIS Baton Rouge Materra and BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City Earn Top State Ratings and Distinctions in 2024–25 School Performance Scores

BASIS Charter Schools in Baton Rouge proudly announce outstanding results for both of its campuses following the release of the Louisiana Department of Education’s (LDOE) 2024–25 School Performance Scores. BASIS Baton Rouge Materra earned an “A” rating for the third consecutive year, while BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City achieved a “B” rating for the second straight year and was named a Top Gains Honoree for the first time in school history.

BASIS Baton Rouge Materra maintained its long-standing record of excellence, earning an “A” rating once again and recognition as the highest-performing non-magnet school in East Baton Rouge Parish. In addition to its overall rating, Materra earned two major distinctions from LDOE:

  • Top Gains Honoree, awarded to schools earning an “A” in School Progress and demonstrating strong academic growth across all student groups.
  • Opportunity Honoree, awarded to schools ranked in the top 10 percent statewide for performance among students with disabilities, English learners, or economically disadvantaged students.

“BASIS Baton Rouge Materra is deeply proud of our students, teachers, and families for contributing to this exceptional achievement,” said Jared Lamb, Head of School at BASIS Baton Rouge Materra. “Earning an “A” rating for the third consecutive year, along with both the Top Gains and Opportunity Honoree recognitions, is a testament to the hard work happening every day on our campus. Our commitment is not only to high achievement but to ensure that every student has the opportunity to grow and thrive. We are honored to serve this community and excited to continue building on our success.”

BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City also posted significant achievements, earning a “B” rating for the second consecutive year as the school continues to welcome new students and expand its academic programs. Notably, Mid City was recognized as a Top Gains Honoree, reserved for schools that earn an “A” in School Progress.

The results reflect the continued strength of the BASIS Charter Schools model in Louisiana, which emphasizes deep subject knowledge, data-driven instruction, early literacy, and high expectations for all students.
