Three BASIS Charter Schools Students Earn Prestigious QuestBridge National College Match Scholarships

PHOENIX / WASHINGTON, D.C. – BASIS Charter Schools is proud to announce that three students from its national network of public charter schools, have been selected as 2025 QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship recipients, earning full four-year scholarships to some of the most selective universities in the United States. This year, QuestBridge’s 55 college partners matched with 2,550 Finalists, who are recognized as Match Scholarship Recipients. 

QuestBridge National College Match connects exceptionally high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with top colleges and universities through a highly competitive application process. Each Match Scholarship covers the full cost of attendance – including tuition, housing, meals, books, supplies, and travel – valued at more than $325,000 per student on average. 

“This achievement is a powerful reflection of both our students’ determination and the rigorous academic preparation they receive at BASIS Charter Schools,” said Carolyn McGarvey, CEO of BASIS Ed. “Earning a QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship places these students among the most accomplished in the nation, and we are incredibly proud to see them take this next step toward extraordinary opportunities at some of the country’s top universities.” 

On average, finalists earned a 3.9 unweighted GPA, pursued the most advanced coursework available to them, and balanced demanding academic schedules with leadership roles, jobs, and significant family responsibilities. Nearly 90% attend public or charter schools, and approximately 80% will be first-generation college graduates. 

In 2025, BASIS Charter Schools students were matched to the following institutions: 

  • A student from BASIS Ahwatukee matched with the University of Pennsylvania 
  • A student from BASIS Peoria matched with the University of Pennsylvania
