24 BASIS Charter School Students Competing at Speech & Debate Nationals

24 BASIS Charter School Students Competing at Speech & Debate Nationals

Over the last weekend in March 2023, many BASIS Charter School students participated in the National Speech & Debate Association’s qualifying tournament in Arizona. Hundreds of students from across the state competed, and we are proud to announce that BASIS Charter School students made up over one-third of all qualifying entries in the state, earning a chance to participate in Nationals this summer.

The National Speech & Debate Tournament is billed as the largest academic competition in the country, with over 6,000 high school students gathering to compete. This year, the National Speech & Debate Tournament will be held right here in the Phoenix Valley from June 11, 2023 through June 16, 2023.

This is a great opportunity for our students to test their skills and go up against the best speech and debate students from around the nation. The skills students learn by participating in speech and debate will help them throughout their lifetime, and we are incredibly proud of all of our students who earned a spot to compete on the biggest stage. Congratulations to all, and best of luck!
