Congratulations to Our Class of 2025 National Merit Semifinalists

We are proud to announce that more than 140 high school seniors from BASIS Charter Schools have been recognized as Semifinalists in the annual National Merit® Scholarship Program!
The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the largest academic competitions in the country. In the spring and summer of 2025, approximately 6,870 students from across the U.S. will be awarded National Merit Scholarships, totaling nearly $26 million in merit aid.

To enter the program, students take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). This test, which is structured similarly to the SAT®, is designed to measure students’ reading, writing and math skills. Out of the approximately 1.3 million students who take the PSAT/NMSQT® each year, only 16,000 high-scoring students qualify as Semifinalists. This represents less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors.

Overall, 146 students from BASIS Charter Schools were honored as Semifinalists for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. That’s 22% of our eligible seniors!

We are incredibly proud of our students for earning this accolade!
