What Are Parent Booster Clubs?

Are you looking for a way to get more involved with your child’s school?

You’re in luck! Every BASIS Charter School campus has its own Booster Club, and these groups are always looking for new members.

Our parent Booster Clubs are not-for-profit, site-specific organizations run entirely by parent volunteers. All of the money raised by our Boosters goes toward supporting our students, teachers and staff! Throughout the school year, our Booster Clubs plan a variety of events and fundraisers.

Learn more about the important role that Booster Clubs play at our schools and find out how you can get involved!

Examples of Booster Club initiatives

Some examples of common initiatives led by our parent Booster Clubs include:

  • Planning school events, such as fall festivals, movie nights or community dinners
  • Organizing school supply drives
  • Organizing fundraisers for our Annual Teacher Fund
  • Selling school merchandise and swag
  • Setting up hot lunch services, and volunteering to serve lunch to students
  • Planning teacher appreciation initiatives

Specific Booster Club activities vary from campus to campus. Keep an eye on ParentSquare and social media for updates from your school’s Booster Club!

Why are Booster Clubs important?

Our Booster Clubs act as the “social glue” between families. By planning and hosting many events throughout the year, the Boosters provide students and parents alike with opportunities to meet and socialize with one another. If you’re new to BASIS Charter Schools, joining the Boosters is a great way to get to know other families and become more involved in your child’s education

In addition to fostering connections amongst families, our Booster Clubs provide invaluable practical help to our schools. Whether it’s volunteering to serve lunch to students or raising money for classroom supplies, our Booster Clubs make a huge difference. As a member of the Boosters, you’ll play an active role in enriching your child’s school experience!

How can you join your school’s Booster Club?

Since our Booster Clubs are independent, not-for-profit organizations, the process of joining may vary from campus to campus. Please reach out to your child’s school for more information on how to get started. The admin team will be more than happy to connect you with your local Booster Club!

Most of our school’s Booster Clubs have their own websites, where you can find information on membership, events and general news. Booster Club news is also frequently shared on the school’s social media or ParentSquare accounts.

Even without becoming an official member of your school’s Booster Club, you can support their initiatives by donating to one of their fundraisers or volunteering for an event!
