Three BASIS Charter Schools Students Named 2026 Flinn Scholars

The 2026 class of Flinn Scholars has been announced, and three BASIS Charter Schools seniors are among the 20 students selected statewide for this prestigious honor. Please join us in congratulating Vedang C. of BASIS Scottsdale, Timothy K. of BASIS Ahwatukee, and Aleena R. of BASIS Oro Valley on being named 2026 Flinn Scholars.

Each year, the Flinn Scholarship is awarded to about 20 of Arizona’s top high school seniors following a highly competitive, multi-stage selection process. Scholars receive a comprehensive merit-based package valued at more than $135,000 over four undergraduate years, which includes tuition, fees, housing, and meals at an Arizona public university. The program also funds at least two study-abroad experiences, including a group summer seminar after the first year, as well as mentorship, leadership development, and access to a vibrant community of scholars and alumni.

This year’s 20 Flinn Scholars were chosen from more than 1,100 applications representing Arizona high schools across five counties. Their intended majors span an impressive range of fields, from neuroscience and engineering to social sciences, public service, and the arts, reflecting the broad impact Flinn Scholars make in Arizona and beyond. The 41st class of Flinn Scholars will be officially recognized at the Flinn Scholars Recognition Luncheon in Scottsdale this spring.

For Vedang, Timothy, and Aleena, this achievement reflects years of dedication to advanced coursework, research, leadership, and service — hallmarks of the BASIS Charter Schools academic experience.

We are incredibly proud of these seniors and grateful to the teachers, administrators, families, and peers who supported them throughout their journeys. Their success is a testament to what is possible when motivated students are challenged, encouraged, and empowered in a high-expectations learning environment.

We look forward to seeing how Vedang, Timothy, and Aleena will take advantage of the Flinn Scholarship’s opportunities — on campus, across Arizona, and around the world — and how they will continue to represent BASIS Charter Schools as scholars and leaders.
