BASIS Charter Schools are dedicated to preparing students for success in college. Each of our high school seniors graduate with a minimum of six AP courses under their belt and an average of more than $100,000 in merit aid.
In their senior year, our students take a daily College Counseling Seminar. By providing individualized college guidance to each student, we are able to ensure that 100% of our seniors are accepted to a four-year college or university.
After receiving acceptance letters (usually in March or early April), our seniors have tough decisions to make. What are the pros and cons of the different schools they have been accepted to, and what school would they ultimately like to attend?
By National College Decision Day on May 1, our seniors have made that decision! Learn more about what National College Decision Day is and find out where BASIS Charter Schools seniors will be attending college next year.
What is National College Decision Day?
Taking place on May 1 each year, National College Decision Day is the unofficial deadline for accepting enrollment at a college or university. On or before this day, seniors should decide which college they are going to attend in the fall and complete any necessary enrollment steps.
Traditionally, most colleges set their enrollment deadlines on or around May 1, but it’s important to note that all schools are different. Some schools may have earlier or later deadlines for accepting your offer.
National College Decision Day is an exciting time for our seniors since it marks the end of the college application and acceptance process. After confirming their enrollment at their school of their choice, seniors can sit back and relax without worrying about their college plans.
Many schools are setting later decision deadlines in 2024
Many colleges are pushing back their 2024 enrollment deadlines due to FAFSA delays. Students are receiving financial aid packages later than usual this year and may need extra time to compare their options before committing to a school.
To accommodate these financial aid delays, some schools have pushed their May 1 decision deadline to May 15 or June 1. For a full list of colleges that have changed their enrollment deadlines due to the FAFSA delay, visit the National Association for College Admission Counseling website.
